On the afternoon of Friday, March 7, we held an orientation meeting for parents of students who will be entering Tomisuhara Junior High School in the Reiwa 7 academic year. The main topics covered were as follows:
Principal
・The number of students for the Reiwa 7 academic year will be 203. There will be two classes per grade and two special education classes, for a total of eight classes.
・In addition, we have a special support classroom that provides special instruction once a week. Students from other schools also attend. Please feel free to consult us about special needs education.
・For students who cannot enter a regular classroom but can still attend school, we have established the "Sakura" classroom. School absenteeism can happen to anyone, so please feel free to discuss any concerns.
・Since the Reiwa 6 academic year, club activities are no longer mandatory. Furthermore, from the middle of the Reiwa 8 academic year, club activities will no longer be held on school holidays.
・Children grow by observing the behavior of adults. It is important for the school and families to work together to teach the value of cooperation.
Student Guidance Representative
・Please refer to the materials recently sent regarding life in junior high school.
・The school rules have been revised through discussions within the student council. Please make sure to follow them. We will continue to review them as needed.
・Curling hair with perms or irons is prohibited.
・Check the laces of gym shoes to ensure they can be used immediately for the entrance ceremony.
School Lunch Representative
・School lunches will be provided, just as in elementary school.
・School lunches may be suspended on certain days due to school events.
・There will be no school lunch on the day after the entrance ceremony, so students need to bring a lunch. There will be other occasions when bringing a lunch is required, so we ask for your cooperation.
School Health Representative
・On the emergency contact card, please provide a phone number that can be reliably reached in case of emergency.
・Please enroll in the Japan Sports Promotion Center. Injuries that occur under school supervision are covered by the center’s disaster compensation. This cannot be combined with the municipal child medical expense subsidy.
Vice Principal (Items for the Entrance Ceremony)
・Please refer to the materials distributed today regarding the necessary items for the entrance ceremony.
・The school enrollment notification must be submitted at the reception.
・Students will take home their textbooks. Since they are heavy, please prepare a sturdy bag.
