This is a prize-winning entry in the 69th National Gakugei Science Contest (organized by Obunsha, supported by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology; the Ministry of the Environment; and the Children and Families Agency).
A work created by a second-year student of our school has been selected as a winning entry in the Poster/Design Division (Junior High School Category) of the contest. A certificate and a supplementary prize have been delivered.
In this division, there were 611 entries from junior high school students. One Gold Prize, one Silver Prize, and one Bronze Prize were awarded, and ten entries were selected as prize winners.

Se trata de una obra premiada en el 69.º Concurso Nacional de Ciencias y Artes (organizado por Obunsha, con el apoyo del Ministerio de Educación, Cultura, Deportes, Ciencia y Tecnología; el Ministerio de Medio Ambiente; y la Agencia de la Infancia y la Familia).
Una obra de un estudiante de segundo año de nuestra escuela fue seleccionada en la categoría de Póster/Diseño (nivel de secundaria). Hemos recibido el diploma y el premio correspondiente.
En esta categoría hubo un total de 611 trabajos presentados por estudiantes de secundaria. Se otorgó un premio de oro, uno de plata y uno de bronce, y se seleccionaron diez trabajos como premiados.

यस विधामा माध्यमिक तहका ६११ कृति प्रस्तुत भएका थिए। सुन, चाँदी र कांस्य पुरस्कार क्रमशः एक–एक जनालाई प्रदान गरिएको थियो, र १० कृतिहरूलाई उत्कृष्ट कृतिका रूपमा छनोट गरिएको थियो।

On Friday, February 20, third-year students in social studies are learning about financial statements, which can be described as a company’s report card. They are using teaching materials produced by the Japanese Institute of Certified Public Accountants in cooperation with The Japan Education Press. At our school, this lesson is being conducted at the request of the Institute.
Students are considering the question, “Why is it necessary for companies to provide accounting information?” and are deepening their understanding of the economy.

On the afternoon of Thursday, February 19, we held a School Health Committee meeting with the school doctor, school dentist, school pharmacist, and a representative of the PTA in attendance.
The school reported on the results of this year’s regular health checkups, the number of visits to the school nurse’s office, efforts related to toothbrushing activities, and the results of the self-reported symptoms questionnaire.
Dr. Tanaka, the school dentist, provided materials titled “Toothbrushing Methods for the New Lifestyle” and explained the recommended style of brushing teeth after school lunch as a measure to prevent infection.
Regarding dental health, we were informed that the number of children with cavities is decreasing overall in Yokkaichi City.
From the results of the regular health checkups, we noted that the obesity rate among first-year students is relatively high, and we feel it is necessary to monitor changes over time.
Dr. Yamanaka, the school doctor, gave advice on how to eat school lunch. For example, with today’s menu, he suggested starting by slowly chewing the namul. He also explained that for bowel movements, what is important is not whether there is one every day, but whether the stool is passed smoothly and in good condition.
Mr. Nakamura, the school pharmacist, warned that cases of overdosing on over-the-counter medicines are increasing and asked everyone to be careful.

En la tarde del jueves 19 de febrero, celebramos una reunión del Comité de Salud Escolar con la participación del médico escolar, el dentista escolar, el farmacéutico escolar y un representante de la PTA.
La escuela informó sobre los resultados de los exámenes médicos periódicos de este año, la situación de las visitas a la enfermería, las actividades relacionadas con el cepillado de dientes y los resultados de la encuesta sobre síntomas percibidos.
El Dr. Tanaka, dentista escolar, nos proporcionó el material titulado “Métodos de cepillado en el nuevo estilo de vida” y explicó la forma recomendada de cepillarse los dientes después del almuerzo escolar para prevenir infecciones.

Ngoài ra, về việc đi tiêu, điều quan trọng không phải là có đi mỗi ngày hay không, mà là phân có được thải ra một cách dễ dàng và ở trạng thái tốt hay không.

The school lunch on Thursday, February 19 consists of Tsu gyoza, namul, Chinese-style soup made with plenty of locally grown ingredients, rice, and milk. Tsu gyoza, which has become famous as a “B-grade gourmet” dish, was originally developed as a menu item for school lunches in Tsu City.

Some groups are conducting experiments in the science laboratory, others are developing menus in the cooking room, and some groups are going out of school after making prior arrangements to conduct interviews. There are also groups carrying out fieldwork.

Lunes 16 de febrero. Los estudiantes de primer año siguen un horario especial y están trabajando en actividades de investigación durante todo el día desde la primera hora.
