After school on Wednesday, February 4, six first-year students are participating in the “Meeting to Hear Junior High School Students’ Opinions,” which is being held in the school library.
This meeting is organized by members of the Yokkaichi City Assembly’s Special Committee on the Investigation of the Children’s Rights Ordinance, etc., which aims to establish Yokkaichi City’s Children’s Rights Ordinance. The committee members listen to opinions from high school and junior high school students. Today, eight committee members are visiting the school.

First, Chairperson Morikawa explained the purpose of the meeting and the ground rules, followed by Vice Chairperson Yamada, who explained about “children’s rights.”
After that, students introduced themselves using a “shiritori-style self-introduction,” and then exchanged opinions about things in their daily lives that make them think “something is strange” or “something doesn’t feel right,” along with their reasons and personal thoughts.
