On the afternoon of Friday, December 12, the third-year Social Studies (Civics) class continued yesterday’s lesson, learning media literacy through newspaper articles with guest teacher Dr. Yuta Nozaki from the Hakodate Campus of Hokkaido University of Education.

In this second session, students listened online to Ms. Utano Tanaka from the Hokkaido Shimbun, learning about the intentions behind news reporting and how journalism should function. Students considered the role of the media and how to engage with information based on her insights from the actual field of reporting.

Today, around the world, there is an increasing amount of hostile rhetoric directed at vulnerable people. We hope students will be able to use empathy to imagine the backgrounds of individuals who may appear, at first glance, as if they are not making enough effort.

En la tarde del viernes 12 de diciembre, en el curso de Estudios Sociales (área de Educación Cívica) de tercer grado, se llevó a cabo la segunda sesión de la clase para aprender alfabetización mediática a través de artículos periodísticos, continuando con la lección de ayer. El profesor invitado fue el Dr. Yuta Nozaki, del Campus Hakodate de la Universidad de Educación de Hokkaido.

En esta segunda sesión, los estudiantes escucharon en línea a la señora Utano Tanaka del periódico Hokkaido Shimbun y aprendieron sobre las intenciones detrás de la cobertura periodística y el funcionamiento del trabajo informativo. A partir de sus palabras desde el campo real del periodismo, los estudiantes reflexionaron sobre el papel de los medios y la manera de relacionarse con la información.

Hoy en día, en el mundo se observan cada vez más discursos agresivos dirigidos a las personas más vulnerables. Esperamos que los estudiantes desarrollen la capacidad de utilizar la empatía para imaginar el trasfondo de las personas que, a primera vista, pueden parecer que no se esfuerzan.

दोस्रो सत्रमा, विद्यार्थीहरूले होक्काइदो शिम्बुनकी उतानो तनाका女士सँग अनलाइन संवाद गर्दै, समाचार संकलनको उद्देश्य र पत्रकारिताकोあり方 (कसरी हुनुुपर्ने) बारेमा सिके। वास्तविक रिपोर्टिङ क्षेत्रमा आधारित उनका अनुभवबाट, विद्यार्थीहरूले मिडियाको भूमिका र सूचनासँग कसरी सामना गर्ने भन्ने बारेमा विचार गरे।

आज विश्वभर कमजोर व्यक्तिहरूलाई लक्षित आक्रामक अभिव्यक्ति बढ्दै गएको देखिन्छ। पहिलो नजरमा प्रयास नगरेको जस्तो देखिने व्यक्तिहरूको पृष्ठभूमि कल्पना गर्न सक्ने सहानुभूति (एम्प्याथी) विकास होस् भन्ने अपेक्षा छ।

तस्बिरमा छैटौँ घण्टामा ३B कक्षामा भइरहेको कक्षा देखिन्छ। ३A कक्षाले पाँचौँ घण्टामा कक्षा सञ्चालन गरेको थियो।

Vào chiều thứ Sáu ngày 12 tháng 12, môn Nghiên cứu Xã hội (phần Giáo dục Công dân) của học sinh năm thứ 3 tiếp tục bài học hôm qua, với tiết học về kỹ năng hiểu biết truyền thông thông qua các bài báo. Giờ học được giảng dạy bởi giảng viên khách mời, thầy Yuta Nozaki từ Cơ sở Hakodate, Đại học Sư phạm Hokkaido.

Trong tiết học thứ hai này, học sinh đã nghe chia sẻ trực tuyến từ bà Utano Tanaka của Báo Hokkaido Shimbun, và học về ý định phía sau việc đưa tin cũng như cách thức hoạt động của báo chí. Từ những chia sẻ dựa trên kinh nghiệm thực tế của bà trong lĩnh vực báo chí, học sinh đã suy nghĩ về vai trò của truyền thông và cách tiếp cận thông tin.

Hiện nay, trên thế giới, những lời lẽ công kích hướng vào những người yếu thế ngày càng nhiều. Chúng tôi hy vọng học sinh có thể sử dụng sự thấu cảm để tưởng tượng được hoàn cảnh phía sau của những người có thể trông như không nỗ lực đủ.
