In today’s society, where a wide variety of information is constantly circulating, it is essential to develop media literacy—the ability to accurately understand information and make independent judgments.

This lesson is based on a class developed by Dr. Yuta Nozaki, lecturer at the Hakodate Campus of Hokkaido University of Education, and will be conducted in cooperation with the Hokkaido Shimbun Press.

In the first session, students will use the newspaper article “Enduring the Heat Without Air Conditioning: Urgent Need to Expand Support for Low-Income Households” (provided by the Hokkaido Shimbun Press) as study material and examine perspectives in news reporting as well as the social issues behind the story.

In the second session, students will connect online with the reporter who interviewed and wrote the article, learning about the purpose of the coverage and the role of journalism. Through this interaction, students will consider the role of the media and how to engage with information from the perspective of actual news reporting.

En la sociedad actual, donde circula una gran variedad de información, es fundamental desarrollar la alfabetización mediática (media literacy), es decir, la capacidad de comprender la información con precisión y tomar decisiones de manera autónoma.

Esta lección se basa en una clase desarrollada por el profesor Yuta Nozaki de la Universidad de Educación de Hokkaido, campus de Hakodate, y se llevará a cabo en colaboración con el Periódico Hokkaido Shimbun.

En la primera sesión, los estudiantes trabajarán con el artículo titulado “Sin aire acondicionado, las personas en situación de pobreza soportan el calor: urge ampliar el apoyo para los hogares con asistencia social” (proporcionado por el Hokkaido Shimbun), analizando los puntos de vista de la cobertura periodística y los antecedentes del problema social.

En la segunda sesión, los estudiantes se conectarán en línea con el periodista que realizó la entrevista y escribió el artículo, para aprender sobre la intención del reportaje y la función del periodismo. A través de esta experiencia, reflexionarán sobre el papel de los medios y la manera de relacionarse con la información a partir de una perspectiva real del trabajo periodístico.

Trong xã hội hiện đại, nơi tràn ngập nhiều loại thông tin khác nhau, việc phát triển năng lực hiểu biết truyền thông (media literacy) – khả năng đọc hiểu thông tin một cách chính xác và đưa ra quyết định độc lập – là điều rất cần thiết.

Bài học này được thực hiện dựa trên tiết học do Thầy Yuta Nozaki, giảng viên của Trường Đại học Sư phạm Hokkaido – Cơ sở Hakodate, phát triển, và được tiến hành phối hợp với Báo Hokkaido Shimbun.

Trong tiết học thứ nhất, học sinh sẽ sử dụng bài báo “Không có máy lạnh, những người gặp khó khăn phải chịu đựng – Cần khẩn trương mở rộng hỗ trợ cho các hộ gia đình nhận trợ cấp” (do Báo Hokkaido Shimbun cung cấp) làm tài liệu học tập, để xem xét góc nhìn của báo chí và bối cảnh xã hội của vấn đề được nêu ra.

Trong tiết học thứ hai, học sinh sẽ kết nối trực tuyến với phóng viên – người đã thực hiện phỏng vấn và viết bài báo – để tìm hiểu về mục đích tác nghiệp và vai trò của báo chí. Thông qua trải nghiệm này, các em sẽ suy nghĩ về vai trò của truyền thông và cách đối diện với thông tin từ góc nhìn thực tế của nghề báo.
